A recent project to redesign a chair based on a historical figure’s childhood motivations, was happily assigned the legendary alexander mcqueen, who has created the most beautiful, thought-provoking artful collections unlike any other; and sarah burton’s grand pre-fall collection for mcqueen is filled with lavish museum-worthy gowns – full-sleeved victorian confections, floral embroidery and black mousseline, velvet and emerald, always lace and tulle in the purest couture, and less elaborate yet still glamorous, cropped pants and white poplin shirts, gentlemen-inspired jackets in perfectly feminine silhouettes.

A late, mid-week start and an incredibly busy schedule already, and in the midst of classes and assignments & the wonder of newly developing ideas, a little time for reading and was completely drawn to lisa sherry’s warm and cozy, sophisticated but lived-in charlotte home – a two bedroom 1,000 square feet loft with the perfect combination of unexpected elements – large scale décor create a more spacious feel, complete with gilded grand portraits, antique french bergère chairs and always refreshing floor-to-ceiling windows.

A new ipad 2 from sva for the digital publishing class led by Condé Nast’s Scott Dadich and Wyatt Mitchell, to create a new digital magazine soon to be available on the app store {so exciting and cannot wait to share} – feels like christmas all over again, and so far it has been all play, and currently searching for the perfect case – a wonderful variety of colors, metallics, neutrals, leather and neoprene, and a favorite is tory burch robinson in french red. Have fallen for the chic skirts and carefully fitted trench coats, pleated dresses and delicate lace details in no. 21′s perfectly wearable pre-fall collection, in fur jackets and capelets, lovely layers and sophisticated patterns, for a day at the office or just as lovely for cocktail hour with friends.

Beautiful, bold contrast and strong but romantically delicate brushstrokes – incredibly mesmerized by the enchanting paintings of san-fransisco based Clare Elsaesser, who transforms gentle sinuous figures into remarkable works of art.
Using acrylic on wood panels, Clare creates impossibly passionate portraits that evoke a sweet sense of mystery and nostalgia, introducing wonderful layers and dimensions to her paintings – perfect lines, highlights, shading and texture, in a pretty palette of olivine greens, turquoise, glaucous, charcoal, ivory and honeydew.
