Just wait until you see what I have in store for you today, you’re going to love it. I’m so glad I came across this store called bookhou because everything they carry is a piece of beauty. Cofounded by John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj in 2002 to showcase both their individual and collaborative work, bookhou is a multidisciplinary studio that emphasizes natural handmade materials and small production pieces.

The brick and mortar shop opened in Toronto in the fall of 2008, but bookhou products are also carried in retail stores around the world in Vancouver, London, Norway, and Australia. bookhou carries everything from home décor and furniture, to kids products and letterpress. The furniture collection is an art form in itself, crafting one-of-a-kind masterpieces that are recycled and eco-friendly mainly using recycled maple wood, steam bent ash wood, recycled plywood and some are even made from recycled furniture parts.

I think that because these furniture pieces are made of wood, one would just naturally fit them into a country house setting, but I find their minimalist and natural look would fit perfectly in a modern style home, and love that they’re functional and beautiful.

All the cards and home products are original drawing letterpress printed by hand, and that gives such a true and authentic aspect and personality to each piece.
