Cathrine Kullberg is a designer from Norway with a multi-disciplinary background that assisted her in merging the areas of material, craft and design in her studio. She created the lovely lamp series that I have been so eager to share with you today, called Norwegian Forest, in 2007 for Cathrine Kullberg Lighting.
It is a classic Scandinavian tradition to use thin birch strips for lighting, and these Norwegian Forest lights capture that perfect element, illustrating a deep, rich pine forest and the beautiful animals that call it home.
“When lit, the blonde birch veneer shines with a warm glow, and the delicately cut forest motif lets light to filter out between the trees.”
Isn’t that such a beautiful true to form description of the work? It amazes me how intricate these motifs are, Cathrine has such a great eye for detail taking you on an adventure through the forest with each lamp, lending it a personal touch and a high quality finish.
Newly designed for the Spring, the white Norwegian Forest Light has a fresher look and feel. The neutral color also makes it easier to integrate into any room and color scheme. The lights come in three main collections, small lights, large lights and table lamps; and they also carry small mini lampshades. Cathrine Kullberg lights are sold in many retail shops around the world, but you can also find them online! Check this link for the retailers and online shops!
What do you think of these lights? Do you see the beauty in this artform?
