It’s Just Sex is an art exhibition presented by artist Alexander Esguerra for a one night launch in New York city on May 21. See this great teaser video for the exhibition to get a hint of what it’s about, and you can also see the collection of videos that were created for this opening here.
Alexander brings together couples from around the city, covers them in paint, gives them some privacy along with a blank canvas to create the art to be sold at the opening of the exhibition. So all the paint swirls and strokes are the product of their sex sessions, breaking down the taboo by showing sex as an act of beauty and love.
I absolutely love those teaser videos – they give such a clever little intro to the exhibition with such an appropriate soundtrack to go along, using the french song Je t’aime moi non plus that was so controversial at the time it was released in 1969, being pretty explicit and open about, and sounding like the physical act of sex.
Whether you approve of this idea or not, it’s such an original concept don’t you think?

I agree! Very cool indeed…the fact that its such an original concept overshadows the fact that one mite not want these paintings made from other people’s sexual acts hanging in their home. Its a bit of a strange idea but then it IS beautifully honest as well.
