Dace Moore is the designer behind the Canadian fashion label Dace, that was launched in 2002 and has since grown and is carried in many stores across Canada and the US. Originating from British Columbia, the line is manufactured and produced locally with attention to fit and detail.
Please watch their spring collection video here, I find it to be the most beautiful video lookbook I’ve seen in a while from any fashion label, and captures the mood and style of the collection so well, don’t you think?
The whole label and design seems to be very cohesive, the clothing, design and photography all tie in so well together. The fashion shots use lots of natural light, creating great moody compositions and tones, with soft, faded colors and convey a sense of classic femininity.
Dace portrays such sophisticated femininity in their Spring collection, with clean lines, and flowy, elegant pieces. Above you can see only a few select photographs that caught my eye, but to see more, visit their website.
It’s Friday at last, and I couldn’t be more excited and motivated to start a productive weekend! What are your plans? I plan to do a LOT of spring cleaning, get some groceries, clean and organize my apartment, and complete a freelance project I have been working on as well, which should free up some time for me to work on other things. It’s not all work though, as I’ll going to a barbecue tonight to celebrate my sister’s birthday as well.

Next Friday I will be traveling to New York City for 4 days with a few of my girlfriends for a little time off and a good time together. It will be a good change of pace, and I will be scouting for some shops and design inspiration to share!
I have been to the city quite a few times before, and I’ve covered the usual tourist sites so this trip will be all about having fun, shopping, finding new places to see, and looking for art and design inspiration! And I’d love to hear your thoughts, and get your advice. From exhibitions, craft shows, flea markets, beautiful shops, do you have any tips? I’d love to spend some time in the Brooklyn art scene, I know there’s so much talent that emerges from there! What’s absolutely not-to-miss in New York? I’d love to hear about the must-sees!

It’s Just Sex is an art exhibition presented by artist Alexander Esguerra for a one night launch in New York city on May 21. See this great teaser video for the exhibition to get a hint of what it’s about, and you can also see the collection of videos that were created for this opening here.
Alexander brings together couples from around the city, covers them in paint, gives them some privacy along with a blank canvas to create the art to be sold at the opening of the exhibition. So all the paint swirls and strokes are the product of their sex sessions, breaking down the taboo by showing sex as an act of beauty and love.
I absolutely love those teaser videos – they give such a clever little intro to the exhibition with such an appropriate soundtrack to go along, using the french song Je t’aime moi non plus that was so controversial at the time it was released in 1969, being pretty explicit and open about, and sounding like the physical act of sex.
Whether you approve of this idea or not, it’s such an original concept don’t you think?
