Are you ready for some fashion inspiration today? I am so excited to share this gorgeous and relatively new brand with you because it is actually based in Dubai, the place I call my hometown. I love seeing and appreciate the talent that emerges from the Middle East, which has started gaining more popularity and attention, providing inspiration for other creatives to work hard for their passions. So let’s get started!
Arwa Abdelhadi and Basma Abu-Ghazaleh are childhood friends and designers behind the fun, feminine, flirtatious and vintage-inspired label KAGE. Neither one of the two designers began their education or careers in fashion. Arwa started with a degree in Psychology only to later take courses in fashion, while Basma obtained a Bachelors of Science in Sociology with a minor in Communication Studies.
Their love for fashion, combined with their drive to create a women’s ready-to-wear line, resulted in a very successful debut of KAGE’s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Following their success, the ladies are back with a Spring/Summer 2010 collection that is beautifully intimate, feminine and soft. The photography of their lookbook only makes it more beautiful, adding the touch of vintage with an exotic feel and effortless style.
