Referencing period elements and textile designs of the omega workshop, the new series of book covers for penguin classic Virginia Woolf novels are beautiful works of art, designed by Angus Hyland and Masumi Briozzo from pentagram with wonderful abstract strokes and a pretty, pretty color palette.

Have admired london-based designer coralie bickford-smith’s gorgeous work for quite some time and even more after recently seeing the book covers for the penguin great food series, which bring “the finest food writing from the last 400 years”; so elegantly designed and illustrated with pretty lettering, featuring beautiful ceramics particular to each book according to the period and necessary utensils.
