Happy Monday & hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! Over here it was more play than work – dancing with friends, saturday shopping trips in soho and sunday brunches, and an incredible friday night at the theater, watching the breathtaking phantom of the opera, and was completely mesmerized by the beautiful costumes, the opera, the set design, gilded embellishments and most of all, the chandeliers.

Last day of the year spent on the beach in dubai and such excitement for the night, for counting down to the new year with the dearest friends, and it has been such a wonderful 2011, thank you so much for reading all this time and coming along on this adventure, for the lovely comments and thoughtful emails, wishing you a spectacular new year’s eve filled with love and laughter, and looking forward to a beautiful 2012! xo

It has been the most frantic december yet, completing final projects and anticipating the most wonderful time of year, landing in dubai only a few days before christmas into a flurry of celebrations and reunions with family and dear friends all together again, last-minute shopping and gift-wrapping, christmas day spent poolside and into the night caroling by the fire, and a few moments this afternoon before blissfully getting lost in it all over again.

A lovely australian fragrance company founded by jenny alex and corey griffiths, sohum carries bath, body, candles and fragrance products, all that evoke feelings of freshness, femininity and luxe, with beautiful packaging, patterns and pretty gold lettering. Favorites include cleopatra, lilac iris, and pomander, body butter with cocoa butter, beeswax and palm kernal oil for hydration and nourishment, and the double creme soap cakes that are “triple milled for fine lathering luxury in fragranced perfection.” Could there be anything more delicately refreshing?

Often get lost in the midst of it all and forget to appreciate this wonderful place and incredible program in a beautiful city with so much inspiration, and once in a while on a sunny day I love taking walks in this lovely neighborhood, and a favorite park to spend time in, besides central park of course, is madison square park, always so charming and engaging, with a book in hand, whether reading, sketching or enjoying the crisp air.
